By accessing, registering for, purchasing, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable laws in Canada, including applicable provincial and federal laws. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services.
Our services are intended for educational and training purposes only and do not constitute legal advice, legal representation, or a solicitor-client relationship.
2. Scope of Services
Northbridge Law Academy Ltd. provides law-related education and training services, which may include:
- Paralegal Certificate Programs
- Legal Assistant Training
- Contract Law Workshops
- Professional Legal Writing Courses
- Continuing Legal Education Seminars
- Admissions and LSAT Preparation Support
- Corporate Compliance Training
We may deliver services in person, online, or through a blended format. We reserve the right to modify course content, instructors, schedules, delivery methods, prerequisites, assessment methods, and certification criteria at any time, subject to applicable law and any express written enrollment terms.
Nothing in our services should be interpreted as: (a) the provision of legal advice; (b) an endorsement of any legal position or outcome; or (c) a guarantee of employment, admission, licensing, exam success, certification, or career advancement.
3. User Obligations and Responsibilities
By using our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete registration and payment information;
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials, if applicable;
- Use the services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms;
- Respect intellectual property and licensing restrictions applicable to course materials;
- Not copy, record, reproduce, distribute, sell, or publicly display our materials without our prior written consent;
- Not disrupt, interfere with, or attempt unauthorized access to our platforms, systems, or services;
- Comply with any classroom, webinar, platform, or conduct rules communicated by us;
- Ensure you have the necessary technology, internet access, and equipment required to participate in online offerings.
You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account or under your name. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, misused our services, or engaged in conduct that is unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful to others.
4. Payment Terms and Conditions
Fees for programs, courses, seminars, and related services will be disclosed at the time of registration, enrollment, or purchase. Unless otherwise stated in writing:
- All fees are payable in Canadian dollars (CAD);
- Payment must be made in full before access is granted, unless installment arrangements are expressly approved by us;
- Taxes, including GST/HST or applicable provincial taxes, may be added where required by law;
- Payment processing may be handled through third-party providers subject to their own terms and privacy practices;
- You are responsible for any charges imposed by your bank, card issuer, or payment provider;
- Late or failed payments may result in suspension of access, cancellation of enrollment, or additional administrative fees where permitted by law.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors, refuse or cancel orders, and verify payment information. Any refund due, if applicable, will be processed in accordance with our cancellation and refund policy below and any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Because our offerings may involve scheduled instruction, limited seating, digital materials, and administrative preparation, cancellation and refund rights may vary by program. Unless a different refund policy is expressly stated for a specific course or service:
- Cancellations made before the start date may be eligible for a partial refund, less any non-refundable administrative fees, processing fees, or materials already delivered;
- No refunds may be issued once a course has commenced, access to digital content has been granted, or services have been substantially delivered, except where required by law;
- Missed classes, no-shows, or failure to complete a program do not automatically entitle you to a refund;
- Requests for cancellation or refund must be submitted in writing to our contact information listed below;
- Any approved refund will be issued to the original payment method where reasonably possible.
Where mandatory consumer protection laws in Canada or any applicable province provide a greater right to cancellation or refund, those rights will apply. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit non-waivable rights under applicable law.
6. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Northbridge Law Academy Ltd., its directors, officers, employees, instructors, contractors, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or loss of opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of our services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to liability, or CAD $100, whichever is greater, except where such limitation is prohibited by law.
We do not warrant that:
- the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure;
- course content will meet every user’s specific expectations or professional objectives;
- any training outcome, exam result, certification, admission, or career result will be achieved.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You must not, without our prior written consent:
- reproduce, distribute, publish, adapt, modify, translate, or create derivative works from our materials;

- record live sessions, download restricted content, or remove proprietary notices;
- use our intellectual property for commercial training, resale, or competitive purposes.
Any feedback, suggestions, or submissions you provide to us may be used by us without restriction, obligation, or compensation, to the extent permitted by law.
8. Data Protection and Privacy
We collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including applicable federal and provincial privacy requirements. If you submit personal information relating to third parties, you represent that you have authority or consent to do so where required by law.
9. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any delay, failure, interruption, or inability to perform our obligations where such delay or failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- acts of God, fire, flood, earthquake, or severe weather;
- war, terrorism, civil unrest, labour disputes, or government action;
- power failures, internet outages, telecommunications disruptions, cyber incidents, or platform failures;
- pandemics, public health emergencies, or emergency restrictions;
- acts or omissions of third-party providers.
In such circumstances, we may suspend, reschedule, modify, or cancel services as reasonably necessary. Where appropriate, we may offer alternative delivery options, credit, or rescheduling, subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the disruption.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update or revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, operational practices, legal requirements, or regulatory developments. The revised Terms will be effective upon posting on our website or otherwise communicating them to you, unless a different effective date is stated.
Your continued use of the services after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the services. Where required by law, we will provide notice of material changes and, if applicable, obtain your consent.
11. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them, the services, or your use of the services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
You agree that the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, claim, or proceeding arising from or related to these Terms or the services, except where applicable law requires otherwise or permits proceedings in another forum.
If you are a consumer with rights under mandatory consumer protection legislation, nothing in this section limits those non-waivable rights.
